From January to September this year, 37,000 used Chinese-made passenger vehicles were exported to Russia via Suifenhe Port, which borders Russia. The volume soared by an impressive 290% year-on-year.
Suifenhe is extremely close to Russia, just a short drive away. This year, local company Hengchi has exported over 7,000 used Chinese-made vehicles to Russia, with trade volume exceeding 800 million yuan. Sales have more than tripled compared with last year. Russian buyers are big fans of these vehicles – thanks to the convenient delivery service, as well as the cars' reliable quality and sturdiness.
Gao Bin, General Manager of Hengchi, stated: "Before exporting used vehicles to Russian customers, we conduct thorough inspections on each car domestically to ensure they can buy with complete peace of mind. Whenever customers encounter any issues while using the vehicles overseas, we will always take every measure to assist them in resolving the problems.
This year, we have also partnered with Cha Boshi, a professional vehicle inspection company, to carry out more than 200 detailed inspection items on each car. We have even offered a repurchase guarantee to deliver on our promise of reliability. As a result, we have earned high satisfaction among Russian customers!"
Sasha, a Russian customer, purchased a Toyota RAV4 from the company. Having previously cooperated with the company remotely, he made a special trip to visit the company in person this time. Impressed by its high reliability, he said he plans to keep purchasing and shipping vehicles from the company in the future.
From January to September this year, Suifenhe has processed export procedures for over 20,000 used vehicles. When including various related businesses, the total number of vehicles handled exceeds 50,000, with the business expanding rapidly. Chinese-made brands such as Geely, Changan and Chery are held in high regard by Russian customers.
Capitalizing on its proximity to Russia and high volume of used car exports, the Suifenhe Vehicle Administration Office has streamlined formalities to improve processing efficiency.
Hong Lei, legal representative of Dongxing Company, commented: "It used to take a whole week to get all the paperwork done-from vehicle transfer registration to export approval. Now it only takes two or three days; the efficiency is remarkably high."
Director Lü of the Vehicle Administration Office noted that the team reviews and organizes over 1,000 sets of electronic vehicle documents each day. Since September, the workload has spiked significantly, so staff members have been putting in an extra 3–4 hours of overtime every evening to ensure that daily operations can run smoothly the next day.
