Used cars are eligible for government subsidies under certain conditions, but specific policies and subsidy levels may vary depending on time, region, and the specific circumstances of the vehicle. The following is information on government subsidies for used cars, compiled based on current policies:

Subsidy Targets and Conditions
Scrappage and Renewal Subsidy: This subsidy is available to individual consumers who scrap their old vehicles that meet certain conditions and purchase a new one. The old vehicle must be a gasoline passenger car (registered before June 30, 2012), a diesel or other fuel-powered passenger car (registered before June 30, 2014), or a new energy passenger car (registered before December 31, 2018). The new vehicle must be a new energy passenger car listed in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Catalogue of New Energy Vehicle Models Exempt from Vehicle Purchase Tax" or a gasoline passenger car with a displacement of 2.0 liters or less.
Replacement and Renewal Subsidy: This subsidy is available to individual consumers who complete the transfer of ownership of a used vehicle through formal channels and purchase a new one. The old vehicle must be registered in the applicant's name before the specified time, and the new vehicle must be a first-time registered passenger car.
